A beautiful, clear and healthy pond can provide a stunning focal point in your business grounds or as an indoor feature in a showroom or simply in your home garden. You cannot beat the sound of running water, whether it is from a fountain or a waterfall on a hot summers day, watching the fish rolling and basking within a landscaped area for your intended pond. So many people over the years have made such hard work of keeping ponds and fish until they have spoken to ourselves and found that they have been making basic and elementary mistakes that have cost them hundreds of pounds over the years, mainly through poor advice. We at Coventry Aquatics will visit your existing pond or the intended area you would like a pond to be sited and advise accordingly. There are many factors to be taken into consideration within the general area of your pond, such as direct sun and over-hanging trees (to mention just two), and that's before we even get to the subject of pump sizes and filtration systems. Ponds can be lined or constructed by blocks then rendered and sealed or even purchased off the shelf pre-fabricated (moulded) in various shapes and sizes. So whether you are looking to keep Goldfish, Comets, Shubunkins or even Koi, Coventry Aquatics can help, advise and even install a pond or up-grade and maintain your existing pond. For a no obligation meeting and site visit to advise on the best kind of set-up and maintenance programme, please contact Robin Hopkins at Coventry Aquatics who will advise and recommend a package to suit all budgets. Aquarium Maintenance & Installation
A beautiful, healthy aquarium can provide a brilliant, quiet focal point in your business waiting area or your home.
An African cichlid tank has many things in common with the Coventry and Warwickshire water parameters in that the water is HARD and quite ALKALINE. MALAWI's are a beautiful fish, striking colours and very hardy, something that has to be considered dependent on the area where the tank is going to be sited. A busy reception area or in the home where unsupervised children can wander, is not the ideal place for a tank full of shy and sensitive fish to be! Lake Malawi is a very rocky lake, this is the reason for the hard and alkaline conditions, we use Lava rock and Ocean rock to recreate the natural habitat of caves and territorial areas for the Malawi to settle in their new home. A good thickness of gravel is also important as these fish dig for fun. Unlike other cichlids such as Oscars they don't eat each other, they just strongly defend their territory, this is why it is so important to furnish an aquarium correctly in line with the occupants or you will constantly lose fish through stress and bullying.
Aquariums can be purchased from Coventry Aquatics from 2ft to 8ft or custom made to measure in a range of finishes to suit all areas and then maintained on a monthly basis*. We can supply and install any breed of fish to match the environment and effect you are looking for. Although the setting up and Malawi fish themselves are more expensive than "community" fish, they require far less attention and are not as sensitive to changing conditions, thus it becomes a more settled and cost effective feature in the long term.
